What happens to my money when the fixed-term period on my savings accounts expires?

When your KOMPAS FIXED savings account fixed term period ends, your balance is automatically transferred to your linked BASIS account. This is your standard account with no lock-in period and a variable interest rate. You can see the current interest rate here.

After that, you can choose to:

  • Leave the funds in your KOMPAS BASIS account (no action required)

  • Open a new savings account and transfer the amount from your BASIS account (click “New” and enter the amount)

  • Withdraw the amount to your NemKonto (click “Withdraw” and enter the amount)

If you choose to open a new savings account or withdraw funds to your NemKonto, the transfer will be processed automatically. There is no need to contact us after making your selection in online banking.
